Q Do I require a visa ?
A Yes, US, Canadian and UK nationals may obtain a 15 day tourist exemption visa on entry. Most European nationalities may also obtain a tourist exemption visa on entry. Check with your national Thai consulate.
Q Do you arrange or book flights to and from Thailand ?
A No, we are a fly fishing guide service. We stick with what we do best. However, see our links list to the right for a selection of flight booking agents.
Q What immigration procedures should I follow on arrival ?
A Ensure you complete your immigration card in full during your flight. On arrival, leave the aircraft as quickly as you can and proceed to the immigration checkpoint as fast as you can (jog !). Select the line closest to the Thai Nationals passport control. If possible try and select a line with a female immigration officer (they appear to process far quicker than their male colleagues). When the Thai National passport control clears - adjacent lines are called over. Following this advice can save you a 2 hour wait in line !
Q What about transport costs in Thailand ?
A All transport costs to and from fishing locations are included in the price
Q How do I get to you from the airport ?
A We will collect you from the airport or Bangkok hotel and return you there after your vacation with us
Q I intend to stay in Bangkok before I start my fly fishing vacation, what then ?
A We will collect you from your Bangkok hotel.
Q What if I am not staying in Bangkok before my fly fishing vacation
A We will not collect you outside of Bangkok.
Q Can you arrange onward travel in Thailand after my fly fishing vacation ?
A We will assist when possible.
Q What if I want to go to Downtown Bangkok or sightseeing
A We suggest, from our previous experience, the best way of doing this is to add a few days either before or after your fly fishing vacation with us. We can arrange for a discrete safe trip or two into the wild nightlife of Bangkok
Q I’ve heard of “floating bungalows, inns & guest-houses” do we stay at these ?
A Emphatically NO ! These are euphemisms for backpacking shanties. Most often little more than a collection of poorly build sheds infested with biting insects ! They are shabby and unhygienic as is their food & service. We stay at high quality lodges.
Q I like a large bed, what size are your beds ?
A We have Queen size and twin single beds at home & at our jungle resort.
Q Is my room air conditioned ?
A All rooms are air conditioned both at the villa and when travelling
Q Laundry is always a problem when travelling - can you help ?
A Yes. When staying at our villa laundry is done daily. When travelling to fly fishing locations laundry is done upon our return. This is part of our inclusive service.
Q I like to tie flies and make leaders, can I do this in my room ?
A We have a custom “Rod Room” providing tying benches and lights for your use.
Q I’ve heard about Thai massage. Is there a place nearby ?
A We have our own masseuse who comes to the lodge. We can also take you safely to experience the exotic Bangkok nightlife.
Q Bangkok is very noisy - will this affect my sleep ?
A No, we are outside of Bangkok located in a private community. It’s a very peaceful and tranquil place.
Q What about air quality and air pollution ?
A Because of traffic volumes, Downtown Bangkok has very poor air quality. The air pollution is tangible. Our villa is outside Bangkok and everyone coming from Downtown Bangkok notices the change in air, the cooler temperatures and the welcome evening breezes.
Q I want to stay in Downtown Bangkok. Can I fish with you ?
A Yes, but we advise against this as it will cut into your fishing time. You can find yourself snarled in gridlocked traffic for hours. Guests sometimes take a few extra days vacation and go to Downtown Bangkok at the beginning or end of their fishing vacation. If you choose to stay in a Central Bangkok hotel, the additional accommodation and travel costs together with time lost whilst travelling will be your own responsibility.
Q What happens if I cancel my fly fishing vacation
A We strongly advise you to take out travel insurance which includes trip cancellation. We will liaise with your insurance company, providing all necessary information for you to make a successful claim. Please read our Terms & Conditions in this respect.
